My favourite thing about this stroller is that there are so many neat features. Not only did they make the unit look good but they made it functional. The carseat cover has a shade that pulls over the whole unit in case of bad weather. Great for that celebrity baby you are carrying.

Target is recalling various “Kool Toyz” products because of a lead poisoning hazard.

Some of the toys contain lead paint, which is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects. Also, some of the toys have sharp points, posing laceration or puncture wound hazards.

Target has received four reports of toys breaking apart, exposing sharp points. No injuries have been reported.

The recall involves “Kool Toyz” brand toys, including sets containing die-cast cars, playground set, doll house set, dinosaurs, trucks, boats and planes. The packaging is primary blue and has the “Kool Toyz” logo is on the upper left corner of the packaging. The following chart lists the toys involved in the recall, their item numbers written on the upper right corner of the packaging, and the specific hazards they pose:

The toys were sold by Target Stores nationwide from July 2006 through September 2006 and on Target.com from August 2006 through September 2006 for between $10 and $20.

Consumers should take the products away from children and return the item to the nearest Target Store for a full refund.

This is the second Recall in a week for Lead in Paint. I thought that it was illegal to manufacturer kids toys with lead paint. I guess the industry wasn’t informed?? We all need to start to support the smaller toy manufacturers that use materials that are safe for our children today as well as tomorrow!!

Two women will be listed as parents on the birth certificate of a baby born this week in New Jersey, one of the first implications of a state Supreme Court ruling that gives same-sex couples access to the same rights as married couples.

The state and the women agreed in a closed family court proceeding Monday, the day before the child was born, that both women should be listed in light of the landmark high court ruling. A judge agreed with the state and the women, lawyers said.

In New Jersey, birth certificates are typically mailed to parents.

Assistant Attorney General Patrick DeAlmeida said the women are the first he knows of to take advantage of new rights granted by the Oct. 25 ruling.

The Burlington County women, who are registered as domestic partners, did not want their names made public, their attorney Stephen Hyland said.

Under state law, the husband of a woman who gives birth through artificial insemination is listed on the birth certificate as the father. No such provision is made for lesbian couples, who often go through lengthy and costly adoptions to give both women equal rights as parents.

Parental rights are especially important to children because they establish inheritance rights and custody should a parent die. Listing both parents on a birth certificate also allows the child to be covered by the health insurance of either parent.

The state Supreme Court ruling said the state must extend all the rights of marriage to gay couples and gave lawmakers six months to work out the details — including whether the unions should be called “marriages.”

This, to me, is a no brainer. This baby will have 2 moms the rest of his/her life. Why shouldn’t they both be listed as parents. They will both be putting in the time with diaper changes, soccer practices or dance lessions. For one person to not included on the certificate would be wrong.
