Marcia Cross and Tom Mahoney Welcome Twin Girls

Congratulations to Marcia Cross and Tom Mahoney on the safe delivery of their new twin girls.

The girls, Eden and Savannah, who were born at a Los Angeles hospital, are the first children for the Desperate Housewives actress, 44, and her stockbroker husband Tom Mahoney, 49, who married in June 2006.

“Mother and babies are all doing well,” says Cross’s rep, Heidi Slan.

Cross had been on bed rest since January, but producers of her ABC hit brought production to her home for some scenes.

Set designers painted Cross’s bedroom the same color as her character Bree Van De Kamp’s boudoir, and moved in furniture from the set. At the time, show creator Marc Cherry told PEOPLE that Cross was “bored out of her mind (in bed), so she said, ‘Bring the camera here – I want to act.’ ”

Her rep told the Associated Press that the bed rest was merely a “precautionary measure,” and Cross herself said in December that she’d been having a problem-free pregnancy.

While she was pregnant she was quoted as saying that she was fine ,”It’s hard to carry around all that weight. I wake up feeling like me and then I step on the ground and I’m like, whose body is that walking to the bathroom?”

We wish Marcia and Tom Good luck! If those little monkeys establish opposite schedules, she will wish she was back on bed rest.

Breast Milk For Board on Craigslist

We are offering a free room for a woman who is willing to provide breast milk for consumption to the household. We are an otherwise vegan house but have recently read A.O. Wilson’s study of the benefits of human breast milk to all human beings of any age. This is not sexual. Neither appearance nor sexual preference are of any concern to us.

We are willing to accept one child into the house as well. We do not want to take breast milk away from a nursing child however. We also don’t need gallons of breast milk but whatever you can muster; it is a nutritional supplement for members of the house who want to partake.

The room is 10′x 15′ in a sunny house in Berkeley. There are 7 other people in the house and we live largely communally - shared food and house supplies. You must still pay for food, only rent is free. Reply to this posting and we will set up a time. Contact Dana.

What planet are we on???

This ad was placed on craigslist, Berkley. Breast Milk is for babies people. The quality of it is only as good as the food the mom eats.

HIV and West Nile can be transmitted through breast milk.

In order for one person to provide enough milk for seven people she would have to pump ALL DAY LONG!!!

Please, someone, tell me this is a joke!

Mountain Rescuers Save Baby

I understand that parents want their children to experience everything that life has to offer, but this dad really should have called gramma and grampa to help during this trip.

A family-of-four - including a 14-month-old baby - had to be rescued in the dark up England’s highest mountain.

The “insane” expedition ended when rescuers finally found the family around midnight up Scafell Pike, Cumbria.

David Naylor had strapped his baby son to his back for the climb with wife Sally and elder son Calum, five, reports the Mirror.

They set out at midday and reached the 3,210ft peak four hours later. But got lost in the dark on the descent.

Other climbers raised the alarm and 33 rescuers began a search. The Naylors were found around midnight on Piers Gill ravine with 200ft drops.

The family were “cold and frightened” - but the baby had slept through most of the ordeal.

Exhausted Calum had to be carried down to a hotel on a stretcher.

Teacher Mr Naylor, of Lynstone, Cornwall - on a half-term break in the Lake District with his family - said: “We are upset but very grateful.”

Climber George Wilson, 38, said: “It is insane to take small children up Scafell.”

Nestle Baby Program

Monday morning my husband came back from the mailbox with a huge package. I wasn’t expecting anything so I was curious to see what was inside.

Inside the box was a knapsack (that is insulated), a Avent bottle, starter can of baby food, cold pack and some coupons. I was excited..and then confused. I hadn’t remembered signing up for anything, but I frequently put my name in for baby offers.

Today a second envelope arrived with a newsletter, produced by the Nestle company, for new moms about pregnancy.

I guess somewhere in my travels, I signed up for the Nestle Baby Program. I am glad I did!

The magazine that arrived is a great resource for new moms and parents to be. The starter package is wonderful. The knapsack will definitely come in handy on our next vacation for storing all of our son’s snack’s when heading to the beach. For new moms, it would be a godsend while out for the day because it just straps on your back and leaves your hands free in case the baby needs you.

We already love nestle products. Our son is so picky, he will only eat their cereal. Last year they included music cd’s with their formula, which come in handy on long trips. It’s nice to see a company that gives back to the moms that are supporting them.

I would recommend this free program to all moms. Go to this website for more info and let your friends know. www.nestle-baby.ca

Trista and Ryan Sutter Expecting First Child

Trista and Ryan Sutter, who are better known as the only “Bachlorette” couple that stayed together, are expecting their first child.

The couple is excited after trying for 2 years to conceive.

Ryan, 32, a Colorado fireman, got the news from Trista, 34, a purse designer, when he flew into Denver International Airport on Dec. 18 after participating in a mountain expedition in Argentina.

“He was completely windburned and his lips were dry,” Trista recalls. “We had a three-hour drive back to our home from the airport and I couldn’t wait to tell him, so I pulled him aside to a quiet part of the baggage claim area and told him there.”

Adds Ryan, “I am happy to be able to finally be a dad
