"Dream Bag"

The dream bag is a great chair that will fit into any decor. It is not bright orange, red or yellow like most children’s lounge furniture.

A furniture to rest in, play with or to dream away in. Dream Bag - a dream like flower for the young and old people. Close it into a bud and let it blossom when or wherever you want either inside or outdoors. Made from foam filled polyester, beaver nylon and is easy to bring with you.

Found it at HDK, a swedish design site. Not sure if is available for purchase yet or just in the developmental stage.

Teens Think That Being Pregnant Is Fashionable

A pregnant 14-year-old has told how having a baby is now regarded as “fashionable” among schoolgirls.

Kizzy Neal has been asked to give advice to four of her classmates who have also fallen pregnant since Christmas.

The teen, from Torbay in Devon, said: “When my friends see my bump they say they wish they could have a baby, then three weeks later they’re pregnant and don’t know what to do.

“Teenage girls think babies are cute, but they forget the physical side of being pregnant, then having to give up your own childhood to look after a baby.

“It seems to be fashionable to get pregnant.”

Family campaigners said her comments showed how the Government’s sex education policy had left teens with the “ridiculous but extremely worrying” misconception that having a child was no different to getting a new handbag.

Her revelations come as official figures show England and Wales have the highest rates of teenage pregnancies in Europe - with the biggest increase among girls under 16.

Kizzy became pregnant the first time she had sex with her 13-year-old boyfriend.

She is due to give birth in May and aims to take three months off her studies at Paignton Community College in Devon, before resuming her GCSE lessons next September.

Fashionable? Which part of having a baby is fashionable? The part where you sleep only 4 hours a day, don’t get to shower and no longer have spending money for yourself. Maybe it’s the part where your friends don’t want to hang out with you anymore because you have nothing in common now.

These kids have lost what the meaning of life is. When you are young, you should have fun with your friends, go to the beach, travel and do everything. After you have done that, gone to school, worked a bit - than have a baby - with someone who can support you and help out when you are tired. How can a 13 year old father help out when his voice hasn’t even changed yet?

It is no wonder that the world is having an overcrowding problem at orphanages. These young girls have no idea what they have signed up for and then just abandon their babies when the reality sets in.

I love the program at High Schools that makes teens look after the “baby doll” for a week. They have to give it everything it needs 24 hours a day if it cries or the diaper needs to be changed. It is not a perfect program, but it does give the girls and idea of some of the work involved.

You Tube "The Making of Sculpted Baby Cake"

This video is kind of neat. In 3 minutes, a woman makes a cake that is decorated and designed to look just like a baby in a blanket. The detail is unbelievable! Check it out!!

Italy Saves Abandoned Babies

In a perfect world, every child would have two parents who love them. They would be fed 3 meals a day and have a roof over their heads.

Sadly, this is not the case. There are many children in the world who do not get the love and attention in a lifetime that our kids get in one day.

I came across this story on the BBC and was shocked that in such a beautiful civilized country, some Italian women are abandoning their newborns with no explanation.

Italy has revived a medieval practice which allows women to abandon their babies anonymously.

Six babies have been abandoned already this year, but that is just a fraction of the babies dumped on the streets of Rome every year.

At a hospital in one of the poorest districts of the city, nurses have set up a room with a crib and a camera. Desperate mothers are able to anonymously drop off their babies without any question.

The hospital started this campaign as a way of giving mothers a safe and clean environment to leave their babies instead of just leaving them in the streets. They have posted posters all of the city in many languages to educate moms about their options.

The city also has residences that they provide for young mother so that they can get back on their feet. Each mom is allowed to stay for up to six months with their baby.

Most states in the U.S. have baby safe haven laws, allowing people to turn over their babies unharmed to a local receiving organization without the threat of prosecution. Normally, the receiving agency is a hospital emergency room, responsible adult, manned fire department or other facility.

If you live in California, you have until your baby is three days old (72 hours) to safely surrender him or her. Take the baby to an emergency room or fire station and hand the baby to someone. Tell him or her “This is a Baby Safe Haven infant.” Then leave.

Recently, in Saskatoon a young mother left her newborn infant on the doorstep of a home where she knew the baby would be cared for. She didn’t have a single person in the world supporting her, loving her or reaching out for her and made a bad decision by not asking for help.

It is sad that these babies do not have anyone to love them at such a formidable part of their lives.

The abandoned babies in Italy are given names and then placed in foster homes.

I wish that it wasn’t so hard to adopt a baby from another country. Maybe if it was easier, parents in North America would put their efforts into adopting one of these babies instead of spending thousands of dollars on fertility treatments.
