Preemie Mom Donates Record Amount Of Breast Milk

Delivering her twins 3 1/2 months early has changed Kelley Durrant’s life.

“When Ressa and Cameron were born their bodies could pretty much fit in our hands, and their skin was so almost translucent looking,” their dad Leo Durrant recalled.

Sadly, Ressa passed away from an infection three weeks later.

Her parents remember saying goodbye to their tiny daughter with the determined personality.

“At the moment it was probably one of the hardest things, probably the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through,” Leo admitted. “But looking back, I don’t have any bitterness or really not any sorrow about that day in particular.”

Committed to the cause of helping other babies who struggle to live, Kelly pumped — in memory of her daughter — at work and even while on vacation.

Her determination was so strong that Saturday she marked a milestone with her final donation to Mother’s Milk Bank of North Texas — 100 gallons of breast milk.

The Milk Bank said that Kelly’s donation — 17 months worth of milk for a baby — is unprecedented.

The giving mom is just happy that she could help other babies and give them the chance to survive or a little bit of a boost.

Toddler Travels a Mile at 3am To Buy Chocolate

When three-year-old Max McGrath had an urge for a chocolate egg in the middle of the night, he took matter into his own hands.

The toddler climbed out of bed, put his brother’s shoes on and armed himself with his pocket money and a front door key, before heading out to the shop.

Still dressed in his pyjamas, the determined toddler walked through deserted streets and crossed over several roads, before he was seen peering through the window of a closed supermarket.

RECALL: Fisher-Price Learning Pots and Pans™ Toys Due to Choking Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Fisher Price today announced a voluntary recall of about 15,000 Learning Pots & Pans™ Toys because missing screws in the blue toy pan can cause the clear plastic cover to come loose and release small balls, presenting a choking hazard to young children.

Fisher-Price has received five reports of the plastic covers detaching and releasing the small balls. No injuries have been reported.

This recall involves Learning Pots and Pans™ toy sets with stackable pots and pans, a lid and shape-sorting blocks. The toys have light and sound features that operate on three AA batteries. Model number G6685 is located on the bottom of the blue pan.

Consumers should immediately take these recalled toys away from children and examine the bottom of the blue pan. The pan should contain six screws. If all six screws are installed, no further action is necessary. If any screws are missing, the consumer should contact Fisher-Price at (888) 521-0820 anytime or visit the firm’s Web site at www.service.mattel.com to arrange for the return of the blue pan for a replacement.

Baby Legs Not Just For Babies!

I was first introduced to babylegs last year when a friend gave me a pair for my son. At that time, I loved using them for lazy days around the house when all he wanted to wear was a onesie.

They acted like a pair of pants, but gave me the freedom to do diaper changes easily.

Now that my son is older I have found new ways to use these snugly, fashionable little leg warmers.

Toddler, kids and even adults love using these soft tubes of fabric to keep their arms warms during the colder months and teenagers have started using them as them instead of bangles as the latest arm accessory.

EcoBonus - Babylegs is available in 27 organic styles, including organic wool, cotton and cotton/nylon mix.

Grandma Arrested For Driving With Toddler On Roof

Florida authorities arrested a grandmother Tuesday for driving around the parking lot of a grocery store with a 3-year-old child sitting on the roof of the car.

Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the Publix store Tuesday and arrested 54-year-old Brenda Bouschet after she was driving around with her three-year-old granddaughter on the roof of her car.

Bouschet was released from jail 15 hours later.

Bouschet said Thursday she would never let anything hurt her granddaughter. She says she was driving at “snail-speed” and holding the child’s leg.

Bouschet told police she was giving the child some air and letting her have fun, authorities said.

She faces charges of child abuse. The child is back with her mother.

Sometimes it amazes me how clueless some people are…
