Unregulated sperm donation has led to a situation where children from the same community are potentially at risk for incestuous relationships.
Reverend Dr. Andrew Dutney, a reproductive technology expert in South Australia, said in one reported case, about 30 lesbians living in Adelaide, Australia, were impregnated by the sperm from one man.
Those mothers organized picnics so the children could get to know one another as siblings, thus reducing the risk for future romantic relationships.
In another case, a man’s sperm produced 29 children, all of whom were living in Adelaide. These children are unaware who their siblings are.
All of these children were born about 10 years ago, which means they will reach adolescence in a few years.
In South Australia, the law says infertility treatments are only for infertile couples or those at risk for transmitting a serious defect. Thus, gays and lesbians generally have to find donors “outside the system,” Dutney said.

Ben reportedly put his foot down and said no way to trendy Hollywood names. If it’s a boy, he likes the name Benjamin, not just because it’s his name but it’s that of his hero, Benjamin Franklin.

A UK mom beat odds of 200 million to one to become pregnant with triplets while she was on the pill.
Kirsty Hale, 22, and fiance Toby Wilson are now parents to identical triplets: Gabriella, Lily and Alicia,
“They’re tiny and amazing. We weren’t even trying for children and Kirsty was on the Pill. But we’re so excited. It’s an instant family,” the new daddy said.
The triplets arrived at 27 weeks following an emergency caesarean. First was Gabriella, who weighed 1lb 14oz. Next came 1lb 11oz Lily with Alicia last, weighing 1lb 13oz.
Doctors are delighted with the girls’ progress but they will stay in Southampton Hospital until their due date on December 14 as a precaution.
I can’t help but laugh at this situation because not only did a swimmer get through the protective ‘pill’ barrier, but when it fertilized the egg - the egg split 3 WAYS!!!
