Liev and Naomi Attend The Premiere of “Filth And Wisdom”

Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber were seen attending the screening of “Filth And Wisdom” at the IFC Center in New York City last night.

The movie, which is Madonna’s directorial debut, is ‘a hilariously sexy tale of three roommates who must delve into mischievous and naughty behavior in pursuit of bigger and brighter futures’.

Naomi looks like pregnancy is definitely agreeing with her. She is rumored to be due with her second baby around the New Year.

Can New Dads Get Postpartum Depression?

When you hear about Postpartum Depression you normally think of a new mom.

CNN has an interesting article about dads who are experiencing postpartum depression as well.

The news site spoke with Will Courtenay, a California-based psychotherapist, who is a leading expert in the United States on paternal postnatal depression.

He found that daddy depression

“comes as quite a shock to men who are expecting this wonderful time of baby bliss with the new baby and a time of bonding.”

“Each day in the U.S., 1,000 new dads become depressed, and according to some studies that number is as high as 3,000. That’s as many as one in four news dads who become depressed.”

A number of factors may cause the depressed feelings.

“It’s likely that sleep deprivation plays a major role,” he said. “Hormones may also play a role.” According to Courtenay, “It’s a double whammy. Not only do our testosterone levels go down, but our estrogen levels go up and these female hormones coursing through our body can really wreak havoc on a man’s functioning.” Although experts aren’t exactly sure, they theorize that these fluctuations may be similar to “sympathy pains” that individuals feel when someone they’re close to is hurting.

Will recommends:

  • men with a history of depression see a mental health professional before the birth of a child to work through any issues that are causing stress and anxiety.
  • couples to seek marital counseling ahead of time if they’re having trouble communicating.
  • couples should evaluate monetary resources before a new baby arrives.

Trista and Ryan Expecting Baby#2

Former Reality Stars, Trista and Ryan Sutter have announced exclusively to Life and Style that they’re expecting Baby #2.

Sharing the joyous news of their second pregnancy with the magazine, Trista, who’s just more than three months along, and Ryan express their excitement and fears about what this pregnancy will bring:

L&S: How soon after Max’s July 2007 birth did you start trying again?

Trista: I was only on birth control for a couple of months. We thought that if it took us as long as it did with Max — two years — why try to prevent it? So we started trying in January.

L&S: Were you surprised you were able to get pregnant so quickly?

Trista: I was in total shock! I took a few tests, and they all came back negative. But a few weeks after Max’s 1st birthday, all of a sudden I thought to myself, I don’t think I’ve had my period in a while. So I took another test — the line was extremely faint, but it was there!

L&S: Did you tell Ryan right away?

Trista: He was there. I had just taken the test when Ryan came up the stairs. I showed it to him and said, “I think I’m pregnant.” His first words were, “Holy crap!” It was positive shock, one of the best kinds you can have in your life.

L&S: After Max’s birth, you said you’d love to have a little girl. If you don’t have one this time, will you and Ryan keep trying?

Trista: I did say that — I’m such a girlie girl. But I’ve become really neutral about it all. I just want a really happy and healthy baby. I know that sounds cliché, but it’s the God’s honest truth. I would love to have a little girl, but I also love having a boy. Ryan has a brother, and they’re about the same age difference as Max will be with his new sibling. So it would be fun to have two boys, too.

L&S: So if you have another boy, will this baby be the last?

Trista: If we don’t have a girl, I’ve thought about the possibility of adopting. It came up in conversation because I’m leaning toward having my tubes tied! I think I’ll be happy with two kids. But then again, I was perfectly happy with just having Max. If we hadn’t been able to get pregnant again, I was 100 percent happy with my life. This new baby will just add a little bit more life and spirit and happiness and fun!

The Piggy Story Keeps Your Childs Art Supplies Organized

As I look around my house I see coloring books on the counter and crayons everywhere.

My son loves to color but we can’t seem to keep everything in one spot or organized.

This is probably why I was so impressed when I came across The Piggy Story’s Cool Art organizers.

Created with vibrant material that depicts a ‘piggy story’, the organizers are great for kids on the go.

The Play Go Go Backpacks Laminated exterior and water-resistant interior makes cleaning easy and keeps belongings dry has a convenienent slotted marker compartment will help aspiring little artists organize their tools while the see-through inner pocket allows quick and easy access to all their other gear. A removable pocket pouch is also included for spare pencils, erasers, change, or other knick-knacks.

The Handy Notecard Kit is a high-quality, retro-chic kit that lets your child create personalized postcards, birthday cards, thank you cards. The tastefully tailored case also be used for storage or toy toting long after the last card is sent. Each kit comes complete with 12 blank postcards, 12 notecards & envelopes, a set of 8 decorative “stamper” markers in fun shapes and colors, and a cute little Piggy Story charm.

My favorite piece is the Carry-all caddy. This kid-sized Carry-All-Caddy not only has space for toys and trinkets in the center compartment, but six additional pockets throughout. Because it is lined with nylon waterproof material, the Carry-All-Caddy is perfect for outdoor or indoor use. Little ones can use it for gardening, beach-going, toy-toting or day-tripping.
