The first time I saw a Kelty backpack I was in Guadeloupe hiking up to Carbet Falls. We were halfway through the excursion when I was forced to move aside for a family that was treking past me like I was walking on the street.

We have been using ours for a few weeks now and both my husband and I find it easy to carry our son in. He sits perfectly in the ‘cockpit’ that is equipped with a 5-point safety harness.
My husband loves the lightweight (weighs just 7lbs 14ozs) of the backpack and it’s ease of use. It’s auto-deploy kickstand and load lift straps, make the Kelty FC 2.0 easy to put down or remove even when you are doing it solo.
It stands on it’s own, we load our son in, buckle him in and then put it on – that easy.
Because I am in my third trimester, I am no longer using this or any carrier to shuttle my son around. My husband has been our tester for the last few weeks.
I was, however, able to carry him in the FC 2.0 until I was 24 weeks, but stopped because I didn’t want to chance it.
We have found that having our guy up so high allows him to see the world from a height he doesn’t normally experience. He likes to dangle his feet and hang out while we stroll through the park or neighborhood.
