A mother’s final act may have saved her baby’s life. A 28-year-old woman was pushing her son’s stroller across the intersection in Toronto, yesterday afternoon when a northbound car ran the red light and struck her.
Unconfirmed eye-witness reports have said that the young mother pushed the stroller out of the way, just before the collision occurred.
In spite of this, the Toyota Camry, driven by an 83-year-old woman, clipped the stroller and ejected the infant. The 12-week-old was taken, for examination at Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children. Miraculously, he has only minor injuries.
The mother, however, was pinned under the vehicle and tragically, passed away shortly after the accident occurred. Charges are pending against the driver. – Jen R, Staff Writer
