Baltimore, MD–10/13/10– hs-baby-infections-hairston-p–The University of Maryland Medical Center will begin using the Luminex Respiratory Viral Panel to screen babies very rapidly for 10 infectious diseases by analyzing a nasal swab sample. Henry and Brenda Belsky, Pikesville, have donated money to the hospital through the R Baby Foundation. Their granddaughter, Rebecca, was born prematurely and died of a viral infection.
