Four years ago on Christmas Day, Stephanie and Pieter Erasmus were blessed with the birth of their first daughter, Cayleigh. Today, they repeated the same luck, this time welcoming a little boy named Davian.
Due on January 3, just like his sister, Davian arrived at just after 5 am, and weighed 7.8 lbs.
Stephanie’s Midwife Hazel McBride said hospital staff was “amazed” when they heard about the family’s double Christmas luck.
“I’ve been a midwife for 32 years and this is the first time I’ve heard of this happening,” she said.
When asked about whether their children would be short-changed when it came to presents, the new mom said she “was hoping he would wait, Christmas time next year is going to be crazy.”
“But they definitely won’t get joint birthday and Christmas presents. We try and have Cayleigh’s birthday party a week before Christmas so it’s separate, and we’ll do that for Davian.”
Congratulations to the new parents. They should buy a lottery ticket!
