British label, damselfly, has created an absolutely gorgeous line of unique hand-finished clothing pieces for little girls. With free-spirited little souls in mind, the vision behind damselfly is to capture the feeling of being able to do anything, and just knowing you are special.
Made of fine Belgian linen and delicate silks in cream, primrose, honeysuckle pink and buttercup yellow, and embellished with silk ruffles and hand-stitched pleats, damselfly’s current collection is inspired by an 18th Century British dairy. Within the collection is a darling natural cream-colored linen dairymaid coat with red satin stitching on the collar and bell sleeves. A matching linen skirt is also available. For everyday dress-up or something a little more special damselfly also has a couple of dresses and a delicate silk skirt and top combination. All pieces within the collection come in sizes to fit little girls from 2 to 8 years old.
I think my personal favorite would have to be the ‘Apron dress’ with a delicate silk ruffle. Oversized pockets on either side of the dress are perfect for curious little ones who love to collect things on their daily adventures.
