Just 6 months after welcoming her second child Amaya Josephine by a domestic adoption, Mariska Hargitay has revealed that she and husband Peter Hermann have successfully adopted a second baby.
Within a week of processing their paperwork for the second time the actress and her husband brought home a son, Andrew Nicolas Hargitay Hermann, who was born over the summer.
“We never in a million years thought it would happen this quickly, but something inside of us knew that this was right, and we said, ‘Yes, yes, yes!’” Mariska told People.com.
“We knew this was our guy. Everything about it felt right. It felt divinely right.”
Andrew and Amaya, she says, have also already bonded.
“They’ll lie in the crib together, and she’ll hold his hand and put her arm around him,” says Mariska “She’s already so protective of him.”
Even though being the mom to two babies under a year old will be challenging, the Law & Order: SVU actress plans to continue working four days a week.
Congratulation to the couple on their new arrival. The babies join Mariska and Peter’s oldest son August, 5.
