Britax Announces Voluntary Safety Recall of the Chaperone Infant Car Seat

image of recalled britax Chaperone Infant Seat grey Britax has announced a voluntary safety recall on their the Chaperone Infant Car Seat.

While no injuries have been reported, Britax has determined that the rivet used to attach the harness adjuster to the shell may have been improperly installed. On the Britax Chaperone Infant Car Seat, the harness adjuster ensures that the harness straps can be properly tightened and secured over the infant’s shoulders and is attached to the infant car seat shell. As a result, the harness adjuster may detach from the shell. Should the harness adjuster detach from the infant car seat shell, the harness straps will not properly secure the child, resulting in increased risk of injury in a vehicle crash.
