Yesterday, at an event in London gear manufacturer CYBEX announced a new fashion collaboration with pop artist Jeremy Scott. Known for his vibrant patterns and quirky designs, Jeremy has created a new collection that will likely be a hit with Urban parents or those who are looking for something unique to tote their little one around in.
The print, which had been dubbed food fight, is a vibrant blue with junk food sprinkled throughout. At first glance animated chip bags, pieces of pizza, popcorn boxes, ice cream bars, and hot dogs appear to be dancing through the fabric while surrounded by cookies, candies, and gummies. If you look closer, however, some of the characters have boxing gloves and are duking it out.
The new line will consist of the Onyx stroller, Callisto stroller, Aton 3 Infant Seat, CYBEX 2.GO infant carrier, Diaper Bag, and footmuff.
Along with the bright seat and canopy, the strollers also have neon wheels and handles. This really makes the buggy pop against the black frame.
At the event Jeremy spoke about his inspiration and his favorite character. Here are some highlights:
Inspiration: “Having so many friends that are young mothers and knowing their struggles to find something they felt was cool for their babies. It seemed like a natural fit for me to design something that I could give as a gift for my friends.”
Favorite character? “I would say my favorite character is the soda pop girl. She is the only one not fighting and she is sort of posing and has this cute kind of like Betty Boop kind of attitude. And she’s just adorable.”
How can parents integrate their accessories best: “It(the collection) has a child-like quality but there is also a humor in there that an adult can get. And I think that is what is important when you are trying to make something that is going to work both for kids and adults.”
