As part of the launch for NICU Awareness Month, 4moms, has renewed its partnership with Project Sweet Peas, a national nonprofit dedicated to supporting NICU families, to honor the incredible work of NICU nurses and caregivers across the country.
Starting September 3, individuals whose lives have been positively impacted by a NICU nurse or staff member can submit a nomination for the second annual 4moms NICU Nurse of the Year. Nominations can be made at www.4moms.com/NICUnurse, where nominators share stories about what makes their nominee so special. 4moms and Project Sweet Peas will assess each nomination based on the story’s impact, the nurse or caregiver’s achievements, the need for MamaRoo swings at their hospital, and the number of nominations a nominee receives. The winning nurse or caregiver will receive $4,000, a gift bag, and ten MamaRoo Multi-Motion Baby Swings for their hospital, while the ten runners-up will each receive a swag bag and five MamaRoo Swings for their respective hospitals.
This marks the second year of the NICU Nurse of the Year program. In 2022, Ronda McCaskey from University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, was named the inaugural winner.
“In honor of NICU Awareness Month, we are excited to once again partner with Project Sweet Peas to recognize the amazing contributions of NICU staff nationwide,” said Amie Ley Stanton, Senior Director of Marketing at 4moms. “For nearly a decade, through our 4moms Cares program, we’ve donated hundreds of MamaRoo Swings to NICUs and NICU families, and this September, we’re thrilled to spotlight the nurses and caregivers who make such a profound difference.”
Currently, the MamaRoo is used in over 650 hospitals across the U.S., where its gentle, natural motion is valued for helping to comfort vulnerable babies when their families cannot be present.
“We’re proud to team up with 4moms again to honor NICU nurses,” said Corin Nava, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Project Sweet Peas. “The MamaRoo has been a beloved resource for NICU nurses, and in the past eight years, we’ve donated hundreds to NICUs and PICUs. We’re eager to continue making an impact for nurses, babies, and families.”
