Two cousins in Philadelphia have an incredibly special bond, as they were born just hours apart at the same hospital. These precious babies are the newest additions to their family, much to the delight of their mothers, who happen to be sisters.
On October 3, Bridget and Julie, who are two-and-a-half years apart, welcomed their baby boys into the world just two hours apart at Lankenau Medical Center. The coincidence of their simultaneous births left Julie amazed and distracted from her own nerves.
“I was very nervous and very flustered. When my husband came in and said my sister was having her baby too, I was like, ‘This is so unbelievable.’ It kind of distracted me from how nervous I was,” said Julie Lightcap of South Philadelphia.
Julie, a first-time mom, gave birth to Reid John at 6:02 a.m. Shortly after, Bridget delivered baby Connor James, who was two hours younger but slightly bigger, weighing in at two pounds more than Reid.
The sisters had enjoyed sharing their pregnancies together, but the timing of their labor was unexpected. Nonetheless, they are excited to raise their sons together, with plans for attending the same school and coordinating Halloween and Christmas outfits.
