A Calgary girl’s wish to meet a princess was granted Thursday during the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s visit to Calgary.
Six-year-old cancer patient Diamond Marshall won the honor of presenting Kate a bouquet of flowers by writing a touching letter to the Children’s Wish Foundation.
When the young Royals arrived the little girl, full of excitement, ran up to Kate and gave her a big hug.
Last December Diamond was diagnosed with Stage 4 undifferentiated sarcoma.
After the event, Lyle Marshall, Diamond’s father, said the meeting was a big boost for the little girl.
“We’re really proud of her and it’s a big win for our family and friends.”
Diamond’s stepmother Danielle, said:
‘ She was so lovely and so gracious. For a little girl who has dreamed of meeting a princess, it was a dream come true.’
Still enchanted last night, her father said.
“She’s pacing around the house, carrying a wand,” he says. “We were thrilled to have her meet a princess.”
