In a remarkable case, a baby girl was born with a total of 26 fingers in the Deeg district of Rajasthan. The doctors at a health center have confirmed this extraordinary occurrence. The newborn has seven fingers in each hand and six toes in each leg. The doctors attribute the additional fingers and toes to a rare genetic disorder. However, the family members of the baby girl believe that she is a manifestation of the goddess they worship.
Born at a community health center in Kaman on Sunday night in the 8th month due to a complication, both the mother, Sarju Devi, and the baby girl are reported to be in good health, as confirmed by Dr. B S Soni.
Despite the uniqueness of the situation, Dr. Soni reassures that there are no harmful effects on the body caused by Polydactyly.
The baby girl’s maternal uncle, Deepak, sees her birth as a blessing to the family and an embodiment of the goddess Dholagarh Devi.
“We are immensely fortunate that ‘Lakshmi’ has chosen to come into our home as a goddess,” he proclaimed.
