In 2013 Bahaoa was founded by two sisters as a response to the lack of Colombian handmade clothing for children in the fashion market. Their goal was to produce high quality knitwear with a stylish design, making use of the craftsmanship of women from Colombia.
Concerned about sustainability and ethical means of production, Maria and Alejandra promote a better way of producing ethical and ecological clothing for kids(sizes 2-12), founded in the roots of locally produced handcrafts.
Their collection is not large but it includes some great pieces that kids could wear everyday. Made of 100% ecological wool, and knitted by Colombian women, these sweaters are timeless, and are also items that could be passed along to future generations.
Styles for boys are limited to vests, pullovers and cardigans, while girls can choose from the poncho, a “torero” style short cardigan, a hooded shoulder wrap and a sleeveless cardigan.
I vote for these ladies to start making a couple of these styles for big girls. I would absolutely love the torero and hooded shoulder wrap for myself!
