Beech-Nut Nutrition Recalls 1,920 Pounds of Baby Food After Glass Found in Jar

Parents please check your cupboards!   Beech-Nut Nutrition announced a recall of approximately 1,920 pounds of Classics Stage 2 Sweet Potato & Chicken baby food after a consumer found a small piece of glass in one of the products.

The product subject to recall bears the establishment number “P-68A” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The affected product expires in “DEC 2016” and includes product numbers “12395750815” through “12395750821”. These items were shipped to retail locations nationwide in the United States.

The company received a report of an oral injury associated with consumption of the Classics Stage 2 Sweet Potato & Chicken baby food, after a customer found a piece of glass in one of the jars.

On their site Beech-Nut notes that they have issued the recall out of  ‘abundance of caution’.  ‘Outside of this single report, we have no indication that any other jar of our Classics Stage 2 Sweet Potato & Chicken is affected.’

If you have a jar of the recalled baby food, consumers are being asked to return the recalled product to the store they purchased it from for a full-refund or exchange.
