Baby Safety just for baby

Breathable Bumper Pads

Last month I did a post on bumper pads for cribs. Health Canada had issued a warning in August /05 stating that bumper pads in cribs posed a risk to infants because of entanglement, entrapment, strangulation, and suffocation hazards.

I recently came across these Breathable Bumper pad which have no strings and allow the air to flow through the crib. Part of the problem with traditional bumper pads is that the air is not able to circulate in the lower part of the crib. These new bumpers are not made from thick material therefor allowing the baby to get fresh air while sleeping.

Breathable bumpers can be removed for machine washing and they fit most standard cribs. The bumper allows visibility and air flow to the child while keeping arms and legs from entangling in the slats.
