Britax’s B-Agile stroller has been our go-to for a travel option for many years. Its massive seat, easy fold, and smooth push make it a great stroller for everyday use, as well trips to the Caribbean.
New for 2016, Britax has upgraded the stroller to include new a more upright seat, new wheels and a re-designed footrest and a larger basket. It is also ASTM compliant, which means it meets worldwide safety standards.
Out of the box, all new parents need to do is add the wheels. They pop on quickly, and you are off and running in just 10 minutes.
From birth, the stroller can be used as a travel system with the addition of the B-Safe 35 Infant Car Seat. You can purchase the stroller with the car seat as a travel system or purchase both pieces separately.
The B-Agile is also compatible with other popular infant car seats, but you will need to purchase additional adapters to accommodate the seat on the stroller’s frame.
From birth, parents can use the stroller’s seat in flat lying position. Through a belt system at the back of the seat, the stroller can be adjusted to many different recline positions to suit your baby’s comfort. One of the new upgrades for 2016 is a more upright seat when it is in the highest position.
To keep your child in place, the B-Agile comes with a 5-point harness that is adjustable to 3 different heights. The harness is equipped with padded shoulder straps, and is adjustable 5 ways to ensure your baby is safe.
For 2016, Britax has redesigned the footrest with a more sleek, modern look. I personally like the 2015 design better as it gave kids a more definitive place to rest their feet.
The back of the seat can be rolled up to reveal a mesh panel that provides more air flow through the stroller on a warm day. Also at the back is two vertical pockets that can be used for storing keys or your device while you’re out.
The canopy on the B-Agile is both spacious and sturdy. When fully extended it will cover almost half of your child.
There is also a mesh peek-a-boo window so parents can check in on their sleeping kids, or add more air flow through the stroller. The stroller comes with a tether to give parents the option of keeping the panel open.
As we’ve loved with previous models of the B-Agile, the storage underneath the stroller is roomy and accessible from 3 sides. I was able to stuff our large backpack into the basket and still had room for jackets and shopping bags. It’s also reinforced along the bottom to prevent it from dragging if you overload it.
New for 2016, Britax has re-designed the wheels to have a more edgy 5-point style. The front wheels have been increased from 6″ to 6.5″, which will give the stroller better manoeuvrability. This stroller has always been a favorite of mine for its push. Some parents aren’t fond of the 3-while configuration because it can be tippy, but I like it for getting through busy places like the market or amusement parks. I’ve also never had a tipping issue with this stroller.
One of the B-Agile’s star features is its fold – and how easy it is to do. Parents and caregivers just need to press the grey button on the side of the stroller and pull up on the strap in the middle of the seat and the whole stroller folds in half and locks in place.
There is also a frame lock on the side to ensure that it stays closed as you are hauling it in and out of your vehicle.
The Britax B-Agile is a great stroller for parents who are looking for something that is lightweight and easy to use. It is perfect for everyday use at the park, mall and around the city, but is also a good choice for trips down south and overseas. It’s compact folded package makes it easy to transport, and it can be carried with the strap on the seat you use to fold it.
