Sharing their joy with the world, Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden have announced the arrival of their newest family member. The private couple, who were married in 2015, took to Instagram to share their excitement with fans.
In a heartfelt joint post, Madden expressed, “We are blessed and excited to announce the birth of our Son, Cardinal Madden. He is awesome and we are all so happy he is here! For the kids’ safety and privacy, we won’t be posting any pictures – but he’s really cute. We are feeling so blessed and grateful. Sending much love from our fam to yours. Best wishes and Good Afternoon!!”
Accompanying their announcement was a colorful drawing with the caption, “a little bird whispered to me,” revealing their son’s unique name.
Fans may remember their surprise announcement in January 2020 when Diaz revealed the birth of their daughter, Raddix, who is now 4 years old.
In 2022 during an interview on Goop’s podcast with Gwyneth Paltrow, Diaz, shared her thoughts on aging as a mom. “The whole concept of aging has just changed completely, even in the last 10 years. It’s totally opened up. I’m excited. I’ve got 50 or 60 years to go – I want to live to be 110, since I’ve got a young child,” she shared optimistically.
Doubling down she said, “My genetics are potentially in my favor when it comes to living a long and healthy life. My grandmother was running around in the hot San Fernando Valley sun at 72, hauling big bags of rabbit feed and chicken feed around. I think I’ve got some of that. … And as is true for most people, I think how I look and feel is some combination of what I do and what I don’t do.”
After leaving the film industry for a decade, Cameron recently shot a Netflix movie called Back In Action with Jamie Foxx that will be out later this year. Now that she has wrapped that project she will have time to enjoy new baby snuggles with her family! Congratulations to the couple.
