A dog in northern Thailand has been hailed a hero after he rescued a newborn baby who was buried alive by its teenage mother.
The 15-year-old mom allegedly abandoned the baby boy after she gave birth without her parents’ knowledge.
Ping Pong the dog started barking and digging after he found the baby’s leg sticking out of the earth in a field in Ban Nong Kham village.
The dog lost one of it’s legs after it was hit by a car. The dog’s owner told Khaosod Newspaper: “I kept him because he’s so loyal and obedient, and always helps me out when I go to the fields to tend to my cattle. He’s loved by the entire village. It’s amazing.”

The baby’s mother has been charged with child abandonment and attempted murder. She is reportedly in the care of a psychologist.
The girl’s parents have decided to raise the baby.
