As I prepare to welcome baby#2, I seem to be reading more stories about things going awry at the hospital.
In what appears to be a feud between 2 families, a newborn baby from the city of Iloilo City, Philippines has been kidnapped from the hospital just hours after arriving into the world.
Rosalina Anino was cradling her granddaughter Jurosh Portillo inside the OB ward when a woman dressed as a nurse complete with a surgical mask approached her at around 9 a.m. and asked for the baby. The suspected kidnapper told the grandmother that she would bathe the baby.
The baby’s mother, 19-year-old Rose Ann Anino had just given birth to the baby girl at 6:28 a.m. that same day. The family was alarmed when two hours have lapsed already without the nurse returning the baby to them.
The family inquired from hospital staff about the baby, and only then was it known that none of them had taken the baby, and that the woman who took the baby was not a hospital nurse.
Sadly, the police currently have no information about the kidnapper, nor of the whereabouts of the baby, but initial investigation shows that the kidnapping might be related to a feud between the family of the mother and the father of the baby.
Police say that the mom and dad of the baby dated before the mom got pregnant. During the pregnancy, a proposal of marriage was made, but the mom-to-be’s parents would not approve.
Therefore it is believed that someone from his family may have the baby.
It is safe to say that no one will be bathing my new addition when they arrive this new year.
