At some point in every woman’s pregnancy we think about, have concerns, ponder and in some cases lose sleep over the possibility of the dreaded “stretch marks”. We’ve all heard horror stories from our girlfriends about them, and if you’re anything like me, you went and sought out the best possible cream, lotion or potion to try and prevent such a thing.
While, heredity predetermines how our body reacts to weight gain and loss. Advances in scientific ingredient compounds offer us options to address these changes. During my pregnancy I tried out a number of belly creams, and stretch mark prevention lotions. One of the products I was the most fond of was the Noodle & Boo Glowology Perfecting Crème($62) for stretch mark control.
Noodle & Boo was founded by Christine Burger, after finding the need for children’s products developed for ultra-sensitive skin; the company offers a wide range of luxurious products for all ages. Newborns, babies and children with eczema and sensitive skin, and adults are all equally cared for by these products, in which every formula is hypoallergenic and clinically-tested to minimize the risk of allergic reaction. Formulations are also dermatologist-tested and pediatrician-tested.
The Perfecting Crème uses a sophisticated peptide compound to prevent and reduce stretch marks by promoting regeneration of proteins while reducing the effects of enzymes that destroy proteins. There are a number of things that I love about the Perfecting Crème; its ultra rich cocoa butter and avocado oil leave skin delightfully soft and smooth without being greasy – unlike many of the other belly products I tried which were very greasy and left a film like coating on my skin (and on my clothes).
While pregnant, I found I was sensitive to certain scents. I liked that this crème had a subtle, pleasant scent that didn’t set off my nauseousness.
For all the reasons above and the fact that I don’t have a single stretch mark I give Noodle and Boo Glowology Perfecting Crème a glowing 5 stars. I highly recommend it to other moms-to-be and am grateful for being able to be one of their testers.
Feel good factor: Noodle & Boo donates a portion of their profits to charity, the packaging is 100% recyclable, and they don’t test on animals. Ingredients are derived from natural resources and are ‘certified organic’ when available and safe to use. – Tanya, Staff Writer
