As the temperatures dropped to -12 in Cambridge, Ontario, police and paramedics were called to an abandoned warehouse after a homeless woman was forced to deliver her baby in a derelict building.
The mom-to-be had been living inside a tent in the building, but frequented local shelters.
Shelter staff said she had been keeping up with hospital visits and they didn’t know why she had been living inside the abandoned building.
Shortly after a male called 911, emergency responders had to force their way into the shed to give paramedics access to the area where the woman was giving birth.
Thankfully both mom and baby are in good health and currently in the care of the hospital.
Southern Ontario has been experiencing a some significant snowfall and very low temperatures this week so this young family is lucky emergency personal was on hand to help.
