Surprise! A Nigerian mom, who was expecting quadruplets, has welcomed a set of quintuplets at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi Araba, Lagos Mainland.
Born last Friday, the five babies, two boys and three girls, were a good size weighing between 3.3lbs and 4lbs. They are all said to be very stable in the neo- natal unit of the hospital. Their mother has been transferred to the ward.
Because the ultrasound only picked up four of the babies, doctors were shocked to find the fifth during the caesarean operation.
The new babies join the couple’s other child.
