Twin brothers born just minutes apart at Virtua Voorhees Hospital have a unique story to tell – they don’t share the same birthday or birth year!
Ezra made his arrival at 11:48 p.m. on New Year’s Eve in 2023, weighing 6 pounds and measuring 18 ¾ inches long. Shortly after, at 12:28 a.m. on New Year’s Day in 2024, his younger brother Ezekiel entered the world, weighing 4 pounds and 15 ounces and measuring 17 ¼ inches long.
Parents Eve and Billy are overjoyed to have two healthy boys with such an incredible birthday tale to share. “It’s going to be challenging when it comes to paperwork,” Billy admits. “Telling someone you have twins and then explaining that they were born on different days and even different years.”
With Ezra now sharing his birthday with his dad, who is also a New Year’s Eve baby, the family has another reason to celebrate. “Having even one child with the same birthday as you is rare and special,” Billy adds.
The twins are already showing differences in looks and personalities. Ezra enjoys his sleep, while Ezekiel is constantly active and curious. The Humphrey family, including their older brother Hezekiah, who will be celebrating his 3rd birthday on January 3, now has four birthdays in just four days.
Aside from the joy and excitement, there is also a practical benefit – the family will have an extra tax write-off this year and another one next year.
