Padma Lakshmi and her daughter Krishna Lakshmi were photographed arriving at the ferry terminal in New York City en route to the fifth Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in Jersey City on Saturday(June 2).
Dressed in matching Summer dresses, the pair wore all white to ahere to the fancier dress code polo matches are often known for requiring. Padma accessorized her off the shoulder dress with silver bangles and a yellow Ostrich Hermes bag, while Krishna wore a coral sweater to keep her warm, an aquamarine necklace and gold ballet slippers.
The Top Chef host, who speaks English, Tamil, Hindi, Italian and Spanish, has revealed to iVillage.co.uk that she is especially proud of her little girl Krishna’s sophisticated tongue.
“My daughter is bilingual, so she can count to ten in a few languages, which is always charming when your relatives come over. They are very happy about that. She speaks my native language, which is Tamil. It’s a South Indian language. She’s running and dancing and talking.”
“She has her own personality. She’s this fully-formed, tiny, opinionated girl,” Lakshmi added.
