Britax’s B-Agile stroller has long been a top choice for us because it’s compact, easy to use and perfect from birth to over 50lbs. We reviewed the stroller back in 2011, and have been excited to test the brand’s most recent version of the buggy. This time around we have also paired the B-Agile 3 with Britax’s B-Safe Infant seat. This combination is perfect for parents of newborns who want a ‘one and done’ solution!
Out of the box parents will love that all you have to do is pop on the front and back wheels, as well as the canopy and you are off. The whole process literally takes 10 minutes and you are ready to hit the road!
From birth the B-Agile 3 can be used with Birtax’s B-Safe 35 infant seat as a travel system or parents can lay the seat flat for a newborn.
The B-Agile’s seat is one of the biggest we’ve seen on a stroller and it easily accommodates kids of all sizes with it’s adjustable 5-point harness. The harness can be adjust at the waist and shoulders, and it also features a no re-thread lever at the back of the seat. Also on the back of the seat is the recline bracket, which allows parents to position the seat to any height.
The seat has a re-inforced footrest that can be easily wiped if your child gets in wearing wet or muddy shoes.
The B-Agile 3 features a generous 2-panel canopy that has a mesh panel on the top to allow air to flow through the stroller. The back panel of the seat can also be lifted up to reveal a huge mesh panel that adds more ventilation on warmer days. *The seat does have to be reclined however for the mesh panel to be fully accessible.
Parents who are headed out for the day will love that the B-Agile 3 has some really great storage. Under the stroller will hold a large diaper bag(up to 10lbs) and the back panel has a very generous-sized zippered pouch that could easily hold a change of clothes, snacks or your personal belongings. Britax also offers a Stroller Organizer($30) that velcros across the handle, to add 2 cupholders and some additional small item storage. We have this pouch and love it. It’s universal so you can use it on your other buggys too!
The B-Agile 3 runs on 4 wheels, which are designed in a ‘3 wheel’ configuration. The front two 6.25″ wheels can be locked for bumpy terrain, They give the stroller a sporty look and make it easy to navigate through busy places. At 9.5″, the back two wheels are beefy for a ‘travel stroller’. They make it easier to go over grass and sand and provide much of stability for the stroller. They can be locked using a linked brake beside the right wheel. The frame at the back also curves to prevent taller parents from kicking it.
The star feature of the B-Agile 3 is its fold. With just the press of the grey button on the right side and the pull of the tether on the seat the stroller folds up smoothly. Once folded, the stroller locks in place for easy storage and opens with just the click of the switch.
Often, as parents, we need to purchase more than a stroller to accommodate our kids during various outings. The B-Agile is perfect for almost everyday strolling situations. If you are an urban parent who wants a stroller that will go to the mall, or park, but will also travel easily – then this is one you should definitely consider. It’s obviously not the right stroller for active parents who need something that can be jogged with or go through the forest, but it is perfect for everyday use.
B-Safe 35 Infant Seat
Designed to safely transport a baby from 4 to 35lbs, the Britax B-Safe 35 is one of the best infant seats on the market. Britax has packed some great features into the seat that keep your baby safe and comfortable, while on the go.
The seat itself has Comfort Foam to provide an extra layer of padding to cushion your child. It also has SafeCell Complete Side Impact Protection that surrounds your child in a deep protective shell designed to absorb crash forces and shield your child.
SafeCell Impact Protection is an integrated system of safety components that work together to protect your child well beyond the federal safety standards. Including an Impact Absorbing Base, Tether and Harness, an Impact Stabilizing Steel Frame, and Complete Side Impact Protection. SafeCell means your child is surrounded in best-in-class safety.
The harness can be easily adjusted by using the easy-release button to loosen the straps and then re-feeding them through the back of the seat as your child grows. The seat also has a removable head pillow to provide maximum comfort for newborns and an ergonomic handle to make carrying it comfortable for you.
The base can be installed in your vehicle using your car’s seatbelt or the Lower Anchor Strap. If parents are in a pinch the seat can also be secured into the vehicle just using the cars seat belt through the infant seat’s center belt path as well.
