Debuting in January 2024, Royal Caribbean International’s Icon of the Seas is set to be the largest cruise ship in the ocean encompassing next-level experiences across eight neighborhoods.

This week RCCL announced their diverse lineup of full-scale shows across four signature stages: air, ice, water, and theater. Get ready to be wowed by the first-ever at-sea rendition of “The Wizard of Oz”, a thrilling showband extravaganza, and a cast of robots and skateboarders. This playbill of entertainment is designed for every type of family and vacationer.
Developed in-house by Royal Caribbean, the variety of productions and performances on Icon will come to life day and night. With state-of-the-art technology like 3D flying systems and robot arms that act as diving boards, more than 75 world-class performers will take the spotlight in venues such as the all-new AquaDome and its next-level AquaTheater, the Royal Theater, and the Absolute Zero ice arena.

Aqua Action! – Prepare to be amazed as Olympic-level high divers, skateboarders, aerialists, slackliners, and synchronized swimmers blur the lines between live-action movies and theatrical experiences. With high-tech firsts like a double 3D flying system and robots doubling as diving boards, this high-octane production combines technological and physical feats like never before.
Pirates vs. Mermaids – Step into a mythical world where pirates and mermaids go head-to-head in a lighthearted show filled with fairytale characters and humor that both adults and kids will enjoy. Watch as they show off their greatest feats and see who really rules the ocean.
The Wizard of Oz – Royal Caribbean is proud to be the first cruise line to bring the beloved tale of Dorothy’s adventure to Oz to the sea – with a modern twist. Prepare to be enchanted as characters soar above the audience, revolutionary set designs create never-before-seen stage effects, and over 600 costume elements bring the story to life. Accompanied by an original score performed by a new 16-piece orchestra, this rendition of “The Wizard of Oz” is sure to captivate audiences of all ages.
SHOWBAND! Live. Music. Now. – Music lovers won’t want to miss this incredible showcase of talent. With 16 talented musicians, cutting-edge sound and video technology, and an immersive atmosphere, this event will harness the power of live music to create a sensory experience like no other.
Starburst: Elemental Beauty – Prepare to be amazed by a thrilling story that explores the building blocks of life through the awe-inspiring interpretation of the periodic table of elements. The Olympic-level ice cast will stun audiences with powerful choreography, made possible by the design of the new oval-shaped ice arena. With digitally mapped backdrops and vibrant lighting displays, this show will be a fully immersive experience.
Once Upon a Time: The King’s Royal Ball – This unforgettable gathering of famous fairytale characters is a must-see for young vacationers and their families. Experience timeless tales with twists and surprising new details that bring a nostalgic ride through childhood stories to life.
Icon of the Seas is not only about incredible stage performances – cruisers will have over 40 unique dining, entertainment, and drinking options at Icon’s newly unveiled venues. Adults can enjoy the sounds of Lou’s Jazz ‘n Blues in Central Park or the lively melodies at Dueling Pianos in Royal Promenade.
