The CPSC and Mattel have recently announced a voluntary recall of approximately 215,000 Fisher-Price Little People Mickey and Friends Figures. This recall is due to a potential safety hazard wherein the heads of the Donald Duck and Daisy Duck figures can detach, posing a choking risk to young children.
Fisher-Price has received three reports of the heads detaching from the Donald Duck or Daisy Duck figures, with one alarming incident of a detached head found in a child’s mouth. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.
If you own the plastic Donald Duck and Daisy Duck figures sold in the Fisher-Price Little People Mickey and Friends figure pack (models HPJ88 and HTW75), please take immediate action. These figures are about 3 inches tall and have outstretched arms. The Donald Duck figure sports a blue shirt with thin yellow stripes, a blue and black hat, and a red bow tie, while the Daisy Duck figure dons a light purple shirt, turquoise necklace and bracelet, pink shoes, and a pink hair bow. You can locate the model number at the bottom of the Goofy figure.
The toys are part of a 6-piece set developed for the Disney 100 celebration called Mickey & Friends Figure Pack.
For the safety of your little ones, the CPSC is asking parents to remove the Donald Duck and Daisy Duck figures from your children’s reach, and promptly contact Fisher-Price. You can receive a pre-paid return label to return the two figures and obtain a $10 refund. Please note that this recall only pertains to the Donald Duck and Daisy Duck figures included in the figure pack.
