RECALL:Lilydale Sliced Turkey Breast Due to Salmonella Concerns


Lilydale Inc. is warning the public that certain packages of its cooked seasoned sliced turkey breast may be contaminated with salmonella bacteria.

The affected product was sold in one kilogram packages and was only sold in Costco stores in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Lilydale says there have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of the product and that Canadian Food Inspection Agency has been notified of the recall.

The affected product codes include Lilydale Cooked Seasoned Sliced Turkey Breast bearing the U-P-C code 065843935469 and best before dates of 07-APR-18 and 07-APR-19.

In young children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems, salmonellosis may cause serious and sometimes deadly infections. In otherwise healthy people, salmonellosis may cause short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
