New mom Rumer Willis was spotted taking her newborn daughter, Louetta, and their family dog for a walk near her L.A. home on Wednesday September 20, 2023
The House Bunny actress kept it casual in a baggy white T-shirt and black joggers as she strolled through the streets, accessorizing with silver sandals and an Artipoppe pink baby carrier.
Rumer and her boyfriend, Derek Thomas, welcomed their daughter in April 2023. In August the actress shared the story behind her daughter’s unique name with People.com. It was a typo while texting about the name Loretta that led them to Louetta, a name they fell in love with early on in Rumer’s pregnancy. She had always planned to name her child Lou, regardless of gender.
In a podcast interview, she opened up about her home birth experience, with her doula, Thomas, her mother Demi Moore, and siblings Tallulah Willis and Scout LaRue Willis by her side. During the birth, Rumer’s doula discovered her water bag was still intact and gave her the option to break it herself, which she chose to do. Rumer describes the surprising sensation of popping the water bag and the difference between that and the baby’s head pushing against her cervix.
“She just said, ‘Okay. On the next contraction, just push against it with your finger,’ and I popped it. I think there’s a photo of me and I just have this look of shock and surprise on my face. Because it’s a different sensation when the water bag is pushing against your cervix to when the baby’s head is.”
