Universal Destinations & Experiences has unveiled more details about their latest venture – Universal Kids Resort. This exciting theme park, located in Frisco, Texas, is designed with young families in mind and will captivate children with its immersive storytelling and beloved characters.
At Universal Kids Resort, guests will have access to a theme park filled with immersive themed lands that bring Universal’s entertainment, humor, and popular stories to life. From family-friendly attractions to interactive shows, and unique merchandise to character meet and greets, there’s something for everyone. From the renderings released it appears the park will be anchored by a water ride to help cool guests down from the hot Texas sun.
After a day of adventure, families can relax and play at the 300-room themed hotel.

With its lush green landscape and carefully tailored design for younger kids, Universal Kids Resort will continue the Universal brand’s commitment to excellence and quality.
While Frisco is home to many sports and entertainment options for families, this will be the first major theme park for the area designed specifically for families with young children, catering to riders up to 46 inches tall. While Universal Kids Resort will be about one-quarter the size of Universal Orlando, it is designed to be more intimate and engaging with a completely different look, feel, and scale compared to the company’s current destinations.
Construction is well underway, with a groundbreaking ceremony held in November. The project is expected to take about 2 years with a 2026 opening date.
