YOU’RE invited to the Ultimate Block Party!
On Sunday, October 3rd, LEGO will be celebrating ‘Play’ in Central Park at the inaugural Ultimate Block Party and would love for you to attend!
The Ultimate Block Party champions the importance of play and playful learning in children’s lives. From art stations to a LEGO imagination construction zone, there will be plenty of free entertainment for a great cause!
Families can build and contribute their own original designs to the LEGO imagination construction zone. Choose from 250,000 loose green bricks to construct a model for a creative landscape designed and built by Ultimate Block
Party Details:
COST: FREE
WHEN: Sunday October 3rd, 2010 – 11am to 5pm
WHERE: At the Naumburg Bandshell in NY’s Central Park (enter at 72nd St & 5th Ave)
WHY: We know that children learn through play and that the arts are an integral part of how children learn yet:
– 40 million elementary school children will have no arts or music training in their schools this year.
– 30,000 schools in the United States no longer have recess
– In the last two decades children have lost an average of 8 hours of free play a week, prompting the American Academy of Pediatricians to call the decline of playtime a national crisis.
Come out and join LEGO to champion the importance of play.
GIVEAWAY: For our readers who can’t make it to Central Park but still want to help celebrate the importance of play, LEGO is offering one Growing Your Baby reader the opportunity to win a DUPLO Play with Numbers set.
Congratulations to Our Winner: Jenn S.
